Darren and I talk about a guy selling his store on ebay, the third man records turkey seven inch giveaway, Gemini is still up for sale at some mail order in England (cancelled -ed), Mogwai has a new album on Subpop with a bonus single (we love this trend).
My pick this week is the Sebadoh bonus single from Joyful Noise. Darren picks 2 (cheater) The Goodbye Boozy Warm soda tour single and The Polyvinyl Records compilation "I Need You Bad" curated by Sonny and The Sunsets.

Modern Vinyl is in the middle of a Velocity of Sound giveaway, a signed copy of the smoke pressing of The Lees of Memory. Enter by the 24th.

Architecture in Helsinki

Release Date
05/01/2007
Track Listing
1.Heart It Races
2.Heart It Races (YACHT Remix)

There used to be a link for this on polyvinyls site, but now this is gone without a trace. It's too bad because I picked this up at their show at studio B this past friday. I'm working on a review for looserecord.com and basically I'm trying to find a nice way of saying it wasn't that great. I think I can talk about their opening band a lot, or that the sound system sucked, but everything that I loved from the hushed falsetto and crazy electronics, phased handclaps, it was all lost. Now I wasn't standing in the front row, but it was kind of a mess. They had great energy, and tried to get everyone into it, but it wasn't translating in the back.
Afterwords I grabbed this seven inch for further research and I can't find it anywhere. It's a 7" with a Yacht remix of 'Heart it races' on the b side. There is a UK 7" with a Bonde de role remix, but that is something else.
Also on boomkat.

Following on from the remixes 12" that came out a week or two back, this 7" features an extra reworking of 'Heart It Races' not included on that release, by mucky Brazillian electro funkers Bonde Do Role. The original production was nuts enough as it was, what with the epic choral sequences and the steel drum calypso-style vibes, but the remix takes things straight into that Diplo-style stratosphere of baile funk wackiness. Ace.

Heart it Races 7" Info:
