This is insane, 19 seven inches....I saw this in the window of a record store in the west village about a week ago and had to find it online. It gives me hope to think there was a demand for this and they decided to press it. The track list is an amazing document of the clash and they are all accurate rereleases, down to the UPC. Stop wasting all that money on original 7 inches and just drop it all on this set. Incredible.
I think everyone kind of realizes how great the clash was, how well they hold up and when you think about the other music happening during this time, it makes it even better.
All 19 UK Clash singles (including the never commercially available NME give-away ‘Capital Radio EP’) packaged in replica sleeves and with replica labels. 44 page booklet with extensive sleevenotes, unseen and rare photos plus extensive memorabilia. Sleevenotes include contributions from Pete Townshend (The Who), The Edge (U2), Mike D (Beastie Boys), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Damon Albarn (Gorillaz/Blur), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Shane McGowan (The Pogues), Ian Brown (Stone Roses), Bernard Sumner (New Order), Carl Barat (The Libertines/Dirty Pretty Things), Jimi Goodwin (The Doves), Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), Irvine Welsh and Danny Boyle.
