'Not Worth Fighting' / 'Half-Awake (Deb)'
These guys have a ridiculously long weird name. I think then first thing I would tell them would be to go change their name. I'm hearing a lot of weezer-esque harmonies, I could see this as going along with the shins, that's a pretty good comparison. Nothing really stands out...it's like arctic monkeys, or taking it way back: The Posies.
For some reason I painted houses with my friends in high school for a summer job/company, and this one house, all we had was this one tape, there's no excuse, we had other crap but I guess I was obsessed with the Posies...I think it was Dear 23. I think I would get pissed off if I was forced to listen to it now. I think they secretly hated me. I would have.
This is easy to order from Polyvinyl and it's green.
Nice.
SOMEONE STILL LOVES YOU BORIS YELTSIN "Not Worth Fighting" (Polyvinyl - PRC 134) 7" $4.90 (STREET DATE - 5/08/2007)
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's debut album Broom was praised by Spin which proclaimed the Missouri band "could succeed The Shins" and received unbelievable blog support which landed Broom on the annual and prestigious Leafblower Top Bands of America list ahead of albums from Iron & Wine and Wilco.
***A brand new 7-inch from this Missouri band which Spin Magazine proclaimed the band's Broom album "could succeed The Shins" and Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla said "I am simply a better person for having heard it." Two tracks. Timing is everything.
