Bullshit - Cat Power 7"

This is a load of shit, it pisses me off that this guy just bought all the .99 copies of the greatest and made some fake ass cover. A ton of them have been on ebay for the last 3 or 4 months and the saddest part is I've seen them go for upwards of $30. People are going to be idiots and he just hit on the greatest scam of all time, but it's a really shitty thing to do.

This is ridiculous. I had to finally email him and ask where the hell he got these and see if he responds at all.

Here was my email:

How many of these did you make? Isn't this just the Greatest/Hate single with a weird cover you printed out? This is in no way an official release or even a bootleg. Other than the artwork.

His ebay name is majesticmusicandart.

I'll post his reply if he even gets back to me.
I'd love to buy it, just to give him negative feedback....
I don't want to care about this, but it keeps making me irrationally mad.

That guy's feedback is more entertaining than a novel.

Apparently, he's claiming the not-all-that-rare Flaming Lips "Seven Nation Army" single was pressed in an edition of 75 (!) and is passing off promo postcards as "limited edition unnumbered art prints" to name just two gems.

There also seems to be some poor guy who dropped over $700 on various White Stripes related stuff and hasn't gotten anything in the mail.

If you read through the feedback, it's amazing he hasn't been suspended already.

  2. I never even thought to look there! Genius. I love how he explains the cat power single to someone as 'Not True. Item exactly as photographed.' Ok so pictures don't lie.
Even better is how he bought every copy of this cat power 7" after stumbling into a store in NY. I would complain to ebay, but that's way too much work.
