LSF - Picture disc - Rococo records

Rococo records is the label that released that Australian tour (? not sure) only 7" "Hit by a Train, Hit by a Car' which I knew was just the beginning of things to come. It was so great, both sides, and had that indescribable produced just to the point of sounding too good, but using these interesting guitar sounds, all hyper paced. Now they have just surpassed that awesomeness with this amazing picture disc. The A-side isn't anywhere else and you love Raging in the Plague Age...it's a win win.
Thanks to Paul at seven ten twelve I was over there anyway looking at something and there it was. Limited to 800, and this isn't some weird experiment, side project, from a pretty good band..this is the monumental/historic Les Savy Fav...I can't recommend this enough. Their latest album after years of touring, Let's stay friends is just as good as anything they've done. They hang in there and keep getting bigger and bigger, rightfully so, they deserve it, they deserve it. This is just one of those weird jems that you won't end up regretting years later because now they suck.
I seriously am going to do some editing to my seven inch shelves this weekend. Any band that has lost their integrity goes on the 'ol ebay. Good riddance. Make way for the LSF picture discs.
I think it's $10, perfection isn't cheap.

The guitar sounds in this song are just so great... that far away chorused out sound...I don't think they have sacrificed anything by playing around with something completely produced...working in this all the sounds so completely manufactured...they're really keeping the sound they have been working with, it's just hyper focused
This album is just such a great continuation of the others albums..it's the perfect next chapter.
Nothing new here on this 7" unfortunately but it's one of the most solid singles you could own, and if youa re unsure in the least, this would convince you.

It's weird to see this english review of this single we can't even get.....shit, and I probably would, I have almost everything from 7inches, so what's the deal, does the english distribution rights call fro 7" singles or something?
That's bloody brilliant.

Les Savy Fav are back with a new single on Wichita. 'Patty Lee' which is lifted from the reissue of their 'Inches' long player Phil reckons it's kinda like Modest Mouse, Built To Spill and Girls Against Boys. Decent US alternative rock. There's a new tune on the flip like.. 'The Sweat Descends' has a funky groove and guitar and vocal that recalls the Pixies at times. Ltd to 1000 on white vinyl.

Rococo records is amazing, I have been trying to talk about thee two seven inches for a while, but I wanted to do them justice. Rococo has so many great releases on their website, they are true truly in love with vinyl, and I am with them. I saw the Les Savy Fav and casiotone 7"'s a while back and ordered them of course. Then this amazing package came a few weeks ago. In it Nicole wrote me a great letter about the seven inches I ordered, on 7" stationary, and apologised for the les savy fav cover, promising to send the 'real' cover once it was printed. Then telling me about her brothers band and they still had a few copies left of their 7".

Again, this is what makes seven inches so great. Rococo obviously appreciates them. You know who else does? Les Savy Fav. They love seven inches and even after a comprehensive collection of all of them on one CD, they just keep going. It's like they can't help it.
This has to be one of the most consistent, exciting bands for me. I never know what to expect and really they never disapoint. But to do this concept 7" about being hit by things on both sides, it's too much, when will they get to that point where even for themselves, they don't know what to do next.
Rococo better be proud of themselves. There is no better seven inch you can get. The hit by car side, like Nicole said, made me have feelings, lots of them. it's a very sad, rocking song about the car he didn't see.
I will have to keep checking up on Rococo, they are suprising me with the stuff they have released recently and it obviously is run by some great people. I for one am going to support them, you really should too.
The casiotone seven is equally as good, but I think I talked about that a while back.
