Not Not Fun Bored Fortress singles Club Year 4!

Just got an email from NNF about new singles from Pocahaunted and Robedoor, probably Pocahaunted's last ever on the label....that would be exciting enough, and I was going to mention them today but just underneath was this announcement about Bored Fortress Year 4? Change of plans....I just was talking with Mike from Soundscreendesign about their 400 page 7" book, Touchable Sound...and guess what was in there...on practically a whole page? The Bored Fortress club year 2 singles...the ones silkscreened in different colors, with corresponding leaf glitter glued all over them...this is a chance to own a piece of history!!
It's like the franklin mint, only with awesome shit!

Looks like a great lineup this upcoming year...and another release from Robedoor? No Age? Ducktails? Not Not Fun has been curating the most interesting music and packaging forever....and this subscription will be no exception.
I'm rambling, but really I better get over there before it's gone.
I'm going to have to try to see what else is lying around the house I can put on ebay.

Of course it is...this will be gone by the end of the week for sure, I suggest ordering it directly from overseas like Norman...I found something about some kind of record store coalition carrying them in store in the US? But I found nothing....This seems to be kicking off some kind of super promotional tour of shit-gaze...with Los Camp thrown in for good weird measure. I wonder what the UK is going to think about this under-wave coming their way today. I just can't figure out a reasonable way to get one of these.
I missed the Times New Viking single from Matador a while back, I'm stupid. No way am I trying to wrangle ebay for a $20 copy...it's too late.

I am just a wealth of fucking information today.

Times New Viking says:

No Age - Liars Tour Split

Originally I was going to mention the Abe Vigoda repress from PPM because I liked it a lot, I know they are a little bit of a mess live, according to my friend who saw them open for No Age at South Street Seaport....their live reinterpretation of their new full length (on PPM By the way) didn't translate live.
Apparently they went on with Telepathe sometime between 7 and 8....No Age didn't start until 8:45? Weird and annoying. I love seeing shows outside in the summer, especially free. It kind of works out nice to see Seaport shows Friday and then Sunday shows at Mccareen Pool. The seaport isn't that crowded and if you want to have shit Uno's pizza you could sit way up on this balcony....so I'm all for this space, but the show was over by 9:15 and no encore no nothing....I'm sure they have some kind of agreement with the space to be over by dark or something.
The sound can be shitty there too, I understand they are working in a really bad space, but they should have been doing this enough by now to figure it out.
No Age was still suffering from trying to make that jump to playing huge venues. They were fumbling a little working the crowd and the sound was shit. Not that have to have perfect sound or anything, it might even work for them to play with the differences in sound quality, or the sound guy was trying to overcompensate for the intended mess.

But I digress...this tour 7" was at PPM.... I overlooked it somehow, so I thought I'd throw it out there as I didn't see it mentioned anywhere...No Age and Liars split, kind of like when Jack Black makes fun of John Cusack for slipping in a new band with some classics in his mix tape. This 7" is like passing the torch to the new guard. We like you, you are bad ass, join the club...and it's on PPM so the Liars get back in touch with their underground side.
I wish I could find out if these are album tracks or completely unique to the 7". A crazy split that I didn't know existed....can't wait to hear this one.

I keep hearing how these guys aren't as great live, I'm going to have to see for myself, but I've read some not so great reviews...could be nothing. I like all the 12"'s and 7"'s I've heard, and the full length...so here's another one from available for preorder from subpop.
I guess I can see why this might be different live, there's a lot of production in the tracks with effects and punching in weird pieces and sounds, but they have a great rocking garage sound when they are just banging away.
I am going to go see for myself at Bowery soon, I missed a couple of their more local venue shows, like a jerk, and this will finally force me to check them out.
I think they deliver for me in places Deerhunter doesn't, it's less atmospheric, less jam, waiting for the payoff. No age seems to go right for it from the beginning, it's fuzzy and fast, times new viking with hidden vocals. It's not so reliant on the electronics. I really want to hear what they do with these covers as well.
